Blumenthal requests that the FBI not invoke the States Secret Privilege which would block 9/11 families from getting all documents that are relevant to the litigation. While Wray says he is sympathetic to the 9/11 families, he states he is not prepared to make any commitments to provide documents about an ongoing litigation under the guise of protecting national security. When asked if he was willing to meet with the 9/11 families present that day he fell back on ongoing litigation as a reason that would not be possible.
